INTO THE DETAILS

This weekend we are honoring my mother, as it marks her 10th death anniversary, and given that she had a great love for flowers and beautiful details, the plan is to gather at the park where a memorial bench was placed in her honor after her passing. The bench is under a beautiful tree and next to a field where wild flowers bloom during this time.

We will each bring a white balloon and release at some point during our gathering, and we will get to remember all the beautiful moments that we shared during her life; which we hold very dear up to this day.

I am planning on making beautiful flower favors as the ones pictured below, for family and friends to take home. It will be a simple; yet special way to remember and honor a beautiful soul.

INTO THE DETAILS: GORGEOUS DOORS

While browsing the latest Vogue issue I could not help but stop at one of their articles where shoe designer, Tabitha Simmons opened the doors (literally gorgeous doors) of her five-story townhouse in New York.

A very minimal; yet whimsical style is reflected throughout the space, and my favorite detail is no-doubt the use of paned glass windows and doors; which allow for generous amounts of light to infiltrate every room, while adding great architectural detail to the tall-standing facade.

In keeping with the inspiration, the below shower enclosure has a perfect industrial vintage look.

INTO THE DETAILS: LOVELY DOUGHNUTS

Good morning to all! there is nothing more amazing than to wake up to the smell of coffee on a not so warm little day. Today's inspiration is coffee & donuts and it is appropriate to add that when it comes to comfort foods, one can always remain creative and tend to little details that may turn a simple treat into an epicurean one, and such might be the case with a couple of donut bars I came across.

One of them, a lovely bar that allows guests to taste different coffee and doughnut flavors then rate them on beautifully designed cards. The second one is a creative display of doughnuts captured by one love photo.

Don't you love the little images below? So clever to use a simple coffee stirrer to make the doughnut flag. A very great example of how one can turn the ordinary into extraordinary.

INTO THE DETAILS: LOVELY FOOD

When attention to detail is present, anything can be made so much more special and beautiful, and such is the case for the amazing way in which Matt and Julie capture life through film and photography.

On their lovely blog, Tiger in a Jar, they transform everyday life into an artful and visual feast for the eyes.
Speaking of feasts, I cannot help but share one of their creations, 'beet cake'. Not a fan of beet? Maybe after watching their video you will have a change of heart............

INTO THE DETAILS: FALL DETAILS

My heart found fall happiness when I saw the little details on this collaboration by Mr. Caballero Creative (Jeffrey Caballero) + Geronimo Balloons (Jihan Zencirli). Everything from the wonderful frill for the big blown balloon; the amazing hues on the florals + fruits, the crafty paper tassels and of course, delicious and beautiful treats from Bottega Louie is absolutely adorable. The shoot was perfectly captured by Love me Sailor (Ron + Dominique) and I can't wait to see more beautiful projects of all of these talented + creative minds.

INTO THE DETAILS: LOVELY MIRROR

It is lovely to finally feel some cold and crisp air here at home, as we were all expectantly hoping for the heat to go away. Last night, it was surprisingly nice to arrive home, exit my car and be immediately greeted by the great smell of fire burning wood from the neighbor's fireplace........

What a wonderful way to receive this cold front, wear my fall boots and perhaps sit by the fireplace as I celebrate my 4th wedding anniversary today! I think I might start the weekend a bit early......

LOVELY LITTLE FIND: TIFA MADE

I am quite excited to have found this wonderful idea of making and delivering sandwiches and cakes using the cutest pink bike and a vintage suitcase.

Tifamade rolls down the streets of Paris offering her lovely treats. I love the detail of the colorful plastic little spoons and the stamped paper bags holding yummy and very healthy treats. I would love to eat one of these for lunch today!

INTO THE DETAILS: ELEGANT MOLDING

As soon as I started to become aware of fall, my color mood switched from a very fresh coral to an earthy olive tone. I am especially pleased by the combination of earthy greens and hunter brighter hues; somehow it
creates a very elegant turn of season. The image below is not the exception as the wall treatment using that
very hue creates an interesting room; not to mention the ultra elegant; yet modern molding to elevate an
otherwise plain wall.

INTO THE DETAILS: KID FRIENDLY

I love how sophistication is not lost within this study room; yet, kids are taken into account for an overall smart design. Maybe a little bit of story time before tucking the kids into bed and going for a night out to a beautiful fête... just maybe.

INTO THE DETAILS: CANDLES AND TRAYS

A beautiful scented candle can add a very sophisticated touch to any room; not to mention the romantic and elegant glow once this is lit plus the incredible scent left behind. The look is especially chic when paired with a tray.... not to mention what flowers; even if a single bloom, do for the overall effect.
